Budapest surely deserves a visit, walking on the Danube promenade is really magic especially at the sunset.
Very strong and emotional is the Shoes memorial on the Danube Bank, created in April 2005 to honor the people killed in War World II. They were ordered to take off their shoes and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away.
To reach the Buda Castle the best way is surely walking through the legendary Chain Bridge
Once reached the other side of the bridge you can take the Castle Hill Funicular, the view is amazing
Reaching the top you will find the The Fishermen’s Bastion
And the awesome and colored Matthias Church
Budapest has a very functional and efficient subway, but one line is really special.
It’s called “Millennium” and it’s the oldest Subway in Budapest and, the second oldest line in Europe after the one in London.
In Budapest you can find a lot of characteristics Ruin Pubs, old and abandoned buildings renewed and transformed into restaurants or pubs but keeping the original architecture.
One that surely deserves a visit is the Szimpla Market.
Every Sunday the Szimpla Kert holds the amazing farmers market where you can buy local products like jam, honey, cheese, bread and paprika.
Love all of your photos in this post! Would love to visit Budapest one day! 🙂
